Here we have a Philco Model # S-4627. I Got this from a Estate sale for $2.00 So far I found the main fuse blown, The speaker unhooked (3 wires go to the speaker). First a little cleaning with a soft brush. Next why is the fuse blow? Well this radio uses vacuum tubes.Vacuum tubes need high voltage to work, in this case about 200 VDC. So have do you get 200 volts from 6 volts? Answer The Vibrator power supply.
To test this I removed all the tubes ( dont forget to mark the locations) Next I removed the vibrator( large metal can with 4 pins on the bottom)
